Photojournalism and International Politics, with David Campbell

28 February 2022

David Campbell, Honorary Professor at the University of Queensland, is in conversation with Roland Bleiker to overview major themes in his work over the past three decades. Campbell discusses how his recent work on visual politics is linked to his earlier and still widely cited research on poststructuralism and international relations, including his influential book Writing Security: United States Foreign Policy and the Politics of Identity. Campbell also addresses the links between academic and policy work in the context of his own experiences as both a Professor (including at Durham and Newcastle) and his practical engagement in photojournalism with the Word Press Photo Foundation and the VII Foundation. This interview is part of a series of events organised by the Visual Politics Program in 2022.
