Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox is interviewed by Roland Bleiker about her ongoing research and visual art practice that deals with artistic representations of the links between technology, security and political practices. The discussion takes place against the backdrop of current exhibition of Kathryn’s work, entitled DRONE: Ghosts and Shadows and held at the UniSQ Art Gallery in Toowoomba.

Kathryn is both a visual artist and a researcher, working on the aesthetics of militarisation. She has a PhD from Curtin University and is currently an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Communication and Arts at UQ.  Her latest academic articles include ‘Light Speed, Contemporary War and Australia’s National defence Strategic Review’, in Digital War; and ‘Surrendering to ‘too powerful’ Technologies’, in Media, War and Conflict.
